Version 1.15 is available 24 June 2008
Version 1.15 has 5 minor bugfixes and 13 enhancements.
The most important enhancements are:
- a GUI based on webmin is released to manage the configuration options
- ufdbhttpd supports a new and simple style: "simple-red"
- SafeSearch is implemented for an additional 6 search engines
- more URL obfuscations are detected
- installation procedure gives feedback where the system start script is installed
- performance of agressive HTTPS protocol checks is improved

A new URL category is made public.
The category External Applications contains URLs of
websites with web-based document editors, spreadsheets, groupware etc.
It is expected that all organisations who do not wish that internal documents
travel on the internet will use this new category.
Version 1.14b is available 30 November 2007
This bugfix release has 2 minor fixes:
An unintended SafeSearch for Ebay led to strange errors.
Regular Expression matching could not match URLs with a '?' or a '&'
Both issues are fixed in version 1.14b.
Version 1.14 is available 28 November 2007
This release has an important 2 major fixes and 6 minor fixes.
A performance problem that was introduced in version 1.13 is also fixed.
The new features of release 1.14 are:
- the software suite has a new lightweight http daemon to serve redirection messages
- there is a new program to analyse a Squid log file and report usage of URL categories
- added Excite and dogpile.co.uk to list of SafeSearch search engines
- added new -U option to switch to another user ID (eliminates use of "su")
There are no known problems and all users are recommended to upgrade to version 1.14.
Support for old versions ends on December 31 2007 26 September 2007
ufdbGuard versions 1.3 to 1.10 are supported until December 31 2007.
Starting from 1st January 2008, these old versions cannot receive any
updates of the URL database.
All users of these older versions are recommended to upgrade.
Version 1.13 is released 26 September 2007
This release is mainly for 2 fixes. One is a workaround for a bug in
older glibc libraries before version 2.4 where regular expression routines
cannot be used in a multithreaded applications.
The other one is to make the https verification threads more stable.
This release also has a performance improvement.
By default ufdbGuard is now using UNIX sockets instead of IP sockets.
The overall performance improvement is about 25%.
Version 1.12 is released 20 September 2007
This release has the following enhancements:
- increased https security with options enforce-https-offical-certificate and enforce-https-with-hostname.
- enforce Google SafeSearch and equivalent features of other search engines with the the option safe-search.
- support ACLs based on UNIX groups.
- extended logging with options logblock and logall.
- more descriptive error messages for common configuration errors.
- URL block message can be configured with background color and text size.
This release also has the following fixes:
- detected proxies are always blocked.
- configure script checks for the existence of wget.

Version 1.11 is released 7 December 2006
This release is a bugfix release where
the installation procedure is simplified and much improved.
The Reference Manual is updated accordingly.
Version 1.10 is released 22 November 2006
The following enhancements are implemented:
new feature: proxy tunnels
can be detected and blocked removing a big security threat.
The following fixes are implemented:
API test complained about not finding the toolbars database.
A redirection URL can be prefixed with "302:" for compatibility with squidGuard.
